Step 1. Place the canopy over the motor coupling on top of the fan body so that the large opening of the canopy faces away from the fan body.

Step 2. Line up the alignment tab on the downrod assembly with the slot inside the motor coupling. Plug the downrod into the coupling, pressing firmly until the holes for the threaded lock pin are aligned.

Step 3. Lifting the canopy, insert the threaded lock pin into the larger hole in the motor coupling and through the downrod.

Tighten the pin securely by hand with a screwdriver to ensure that the fan body is properly grounded.

Lower the canopy so that it rests on the fan body.

Step 4. Carefully lift the fan and seat the downrod ball into the hanger bracket. Rotate the fan until the slot on the downrod ball aligns with the pin on the hanger bracket.
